lauren dangelo

LPC, MA

Lauren is passionate about supporting individuals as they navigate their relationship to sex, identity, and trauma—especially within communities where these conversations have historically been silenced, stigmatized, or met with shame. She creates space for people to explore parts of themselves they may have felt pressured to hide, helping them move toward greater authenticity, connection, and self-acceptance.

A graduate of Northwestern University, Lauren brings an integrative lens to her clinical work, drawing from psychodynamic, feminist, and systems-based approaches. She centers each client’s lived experience while remaining curious about the larger cultural, familial, and relational forces that shape who we are and how we cope. Her work is rooted in deep listening, relational safety, and a belief in the body’s innate capacity to heal.

Lauren is Brainspotting Phase 1 Certified and utilizes this relational, brain-body, mindfulness-based method to support clients in accessing and releasing trauma held in the nervous system. Brainspotting helps identify where distress is stored in the body so it can be safely processed—often allowing for deeper emotional access than traditional talk therapy alone. It is particularly powerful in helping clients reconnect with instincts and emotions they may have been taught to suppress due to trauma, societal messaging, or early life dynamics.

Above all, Lauren is committed to creating safe, attuned spaces where people feel supported in exploring their identities, emotions, fears, and desires. She walks alongside her clients with warmth, curiosity, and deep respect—believing in the strength of each person’s inner wisdom and their capacity to heal and thrive.
